FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 

Who can join OHDC?

Members of the U of T community will be give membership priority. In the past we have had U of T students, U of T alumni, staff and faculty, and students from other post-secondary institutions. We welcome everyone regardless of race, gender, and program of study!

I've never danced before, can I still join?

Dancers of all abilities are welcome. If you join the Performance Tier, you may wish to join beginner level performance pieces. Alternatively, you may join the Workshop Tier to learn some techniques and new styles without performing.

What styles of dance can I join?

Our performances feature a diverse range of dance styles that vary year to year based on choreographer submissions. Our shows typically include ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, modern, and cultural dances (including Chinese and Ukrainian, to name a few). Past shows have also included soca, ballroom, and heels.

What do membership fees include?

Access to rehearsal spaces, workshops, costumes, and performance space rental (Hart House Theatre).

​

When is OHDC active?

As a student-led company, we are typically active during the school year from September to April, with our annual performance held during the second last week of March.

​

How can I join OHDC?

You can register at our Registration Day in September. If you are not able to make it, you may email us.

​

I want OHDC to perform at my event! Who do I contact?

You can fill out our event inquiry form with all relevant details, then our Social and Events Management Convenor will follow up with you.
